Description : One week after the start of the school year, several teachers' unions called for a national strike on September 10, 2024 to denounce the generalization of assessments in classes from CP to CM2 and to defend schools in Seine-Saint-Denis. In Paris, the demonstration started at the Jardin du Luxembourg at 1:30 pm, with processions planned in other French cities. The unions SNUipp-FSU, CGT-Educ'action, and SUD-Education are calling for a boycott of the assessments, considered stressful and ineffective. In Seine-Saint-Denis, local demands highlight the underfunding of public schools, exacerbated by a lack of teaching staff and support staff for students with disabilities.
