Description : France is facing one of the biggest forest fires in its modern history, in the department of Aude. In a few hours, the flames have devastated more than 16,000 hectares, mobilizing over 2,000 firefighters and requiring the intervention of hundreds of vehicles and all available air resources in the country. Despite this unprecedented mobilization, the human toll is already heavy, with at least one confirmed victim, several injured among civilians and firefighters, and thousands of residents evacuated urgently. This unprecedented disaster comes just a few weeks after another major fire that struck Marseille in early July.
