Description : About ten internet users have been appearing in Paris since October 27, 2025, on charges of cyberbullying against Brigitte Macron. They are accused of having spread and amplified for several years an unfounded rumor claiming that the First Lady is actually a man who changed identity. The defendants, aged 41 to 60, are charged with "online moral harassment of a sexist and transphobic nature" as well as public insults, some of them wrongly equating the age difference in the presidential couple with pedophilia. They face up to three years in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros. This trial illustrates the dangers of cyberbullying and the power of false information spread on social networks.
