Fire in Gironde: At the heart of the firefighters’ response

Description : Images shot during a press immersion alongside the firefighters, deployed on the edge of the forest and near residential areas in the commune of Lège-Cap-Ferret. Triggered in Saumos, the major forest fire has already burned through more than 12,500 hectares and led to the preventive evacuation of 44,000 people across the entire North Basin area. Rescue teams maintain tactical support and structure-defense positions to contain flare-ups and protect threatened residential zones.
