Fire in Gironde: the commune of Le Porge devastated by the flames

Description : The fire broke out on Wednesday, July 22, in the early afternoon in the commune of Saumos, in a particularly dry pine forest. According to the prosecutor in Bordeaux, it would have been caused by the use of a brush-cutting machine. Driven by sustained winds, the flames spread toward Le Porge, Lège, and the Cap-Ferret peninsula, whose total evacuation was ordered as early as Friday, before veering toward the southeast toward the Bordeaux conurbation.
